Description - The main idea of this topic was to impart some ideas related to cleanliness and to develop the habit of keeping oneself and their surroundings neat and clean. Students were made aware of basic good habits which they must follow in their daily life. Further, they were motivated to brainstorm some innovative ways about how they can keep the environment clean. We culminated our activity with the discussion of different coloured bins presents around the area along with their purposes respectively.

 Description of the Activity - 

Take a rectangular sheet of thermocol.

Cover it with velvet paper or cloth of any bright colour.

Fix board pins in such a way that it takes the shape of a constellation. 

Join the pins with thread to show their clear structure

Exploring the Respiratory System


 NAME OF THE ACTIVITY-  Exploring of the respiratory system

GRADE LEVEL:  Pre Primary 

The material used - Coloured Papers, straws, balloon and tape

LEARNING OUTCOMES - The students were able to learn about how respiratory organs work, where the air goes in our body when we breathe in.

DESCRIPTION - This activity demonstrates when we breathe in where the air goes inside our body. The teacher explained the respiratory system through the story. Later children were guided to make lungs with sheets, trachea with the help of straws and for lungs, they tied the balloons on the other end of the straw. By filling the air in the balloon through a straw they experienced that when we breathe in oxygen our lungs expand and when we breathe out carbon dioxide our lungs contract.

Teeth and Functions

Description- Understanding the shape of different types of teeth and their functions.

They also learnt about the number of different types of teeth in the lower jaw and upper jaw. 

Learning Outcomes- Practical personal learning gets every child involved and motivates by connecting what has been learnt with what is being experienced. In other words, it makes the learning meaningful. With this thought in mind, students of Class IV had a hands-on 3-dimensional experience to help them know their teeth better. They kneaded the dough /clay in the shape of different types of teeth and also learnt about their functions. They also learnt about the number of different teeth in the upper jaw and lower jaw.

Description: ‘LEARNING BY DOING’ Students were asked to explore different monumental architecture to understand the scientific phenomenon of light, shadows and reflection and draw the same to depict science behind it. Most of the times, we dismiss Indian architecture as the craftsmen skills or tales of time before, yet the amount of scientific knowledge they hide is extra ordinary.

Konark Sun temple of Odisha,  Well possibly, we  all have heard of sun dials and moon dials. One such dial is Konark temple of Odish . With the help of sunlight and shadows, 24 intricately carved wheels tell a story about different timings of the day 

Jantar Mantar in Jaipur( Vrihat Samrat yantra) is a gigantic sundial translating to supreme instrument ,which measures time up to precision of two seconds. The shadow of the triangular wall of the yantra , which is positioned in the north-south direction with an angle travels distances in equal interval of time. 

Lotus Temple in Delhi- Nine reflecting pools surround the building, their form suggesting the leaves of the lotus. External illumination is so arranged as to make the lotus structure appear floating in water
